Papayas grow mainly in the tropical climate, and they are also known as papaws or pawpaws. They have a sweet taste, a vibrant color, and have a wide variety of health benefits. Ripe papaya is mostly soft and the skin is of an amber or orange hue, and along the walls of the large central cavity are attached numerous black seeds. The flowers of papaya are sweet-scented and mostly open at night. There are different varieties of papaya which are encountered.
